GAT Event
An Alpha training event run anywhere in the world in an interactive style by a volunteer church team.
GAT Talks
All of the talks required to be given by a GAT team at a GAT event. Each talk has been transcribed, with instructions for the speaker to add their own stories and illustrations. The GAT Talks include both teaching sessions and demonstration sessions.
GAT Team
A team of 4-8 people who (after attending the GAT Team Training) present Alpha training at a GAT event, working together with a Local Coordinator.
GAT Team Training
The training given to all members of a GAT Team. The training covers all aspects of preparing practical details of the trip, preparing and delivering the GAT talks and working cross-culturally.
GAT Trainer
A person who delivers the GAT Team Training. In the early days of GAT, the GAT Trainer may be the Regional Training Manager or GAT Coordinator, but as more GAT Events take place, some advisers or GAT Team Leaders may be able to deliver the GAT Training.
Local Coordinator
The person who is responsible for marketing, planning and organising the logistics of the event where the GAT is going to take place.
Local Team
The team helping the Local Coordinator with the planning and organisation of the event. The team will be made up of a variety of people, such as local church leaders who support the event and others who can assist with different tasks. They will also take responsibility for the pre- and post-GAT event introductory meetings and training days, ensuring the best possible outcome from the GAT event.
Logistics Manager
The liaison between the Local Coordinators and the Alpha-matched GAT teams, who helps with the preparations for their GATs.
