Below is a list of the countries requesting GAT events.   If you would like more information regarding dates and specific locations for any of these events please e-mail gat@alpha.org.

Also, please note that many of these GATs cannot run without heavy subsidies from Alpha International (approximate local costs are listed next to some of the events below).  Raising extra funds for Alpha International to help cover these local costs would be much appreciated!

2012

Burundi, Prison GAT, date tba.  (Due to the impact the civil war has had on the country, Alpha in Prisons is a tool that can help with a move towards peace and reconciliation).

Philippines and Indonesia (including Sumatra, Sulawesi, Bali and other regions) - pioneering GAT teams needed, dates tbc.

Namibia, Windhoek - Classic or Forces GAT, 3-day programme, South African team preferred, dates tbc.

Armenia would like to run 11 GATs in 11 provinces.

June 14-16 - Waterloo, Sierra Leone, Classic GAT.  Estimated local costs @ £1,000.

June or July - Cameroon, Classic GAT

June 27 - Zimbabwe, Classic GAT

July 9 week - Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Classic GATs.   3 teams needed, each team doing two, consecutive 2-day events.  Follow up from Luis Palau Association Crusade and ground support provided by Africa Enterprise.  Teams would need to raise local costs of approx. £750 per event.  Confirmation of teams need by May 11th please.  Tanzania is beautiful in July and a fabulous holiday destination!

August 13 - Bubanza, Burundi Classic GAT

August 20 - Zimbabwe, Youth GAT

August (late, dates tbc), Barnaul, Siberia - Youth Alpha GAT. This event will include members of the Siberian Alpha office, but the GAT team going must have had experience running Youth Alpha in their church.

August 31 - September 09 - Madagascar.  There will be one 3-day GAT in Antananarivo during the 3-5th September and then regional GATs on the 7-9 September, training up to 350 church leaders. Some very experienced GAT leaders are going, so this would be a good GAT to go on if you haven’t been on GAT before!

September, Saratov, Russia - Classic GAT, 2 days.

September, Abuja, Nigeria - Classic GAT.  (The event is tbc based on current security situation.) Estimated local costs @ £1,000.

September 11th-13th, Lunsar, Sierra Leone, Classic GAT. Estimated local costs @ £1,000.

September 9, Bujumbura, Burundi, Prison GAT

November, Lagos, Nigeria (1st or 2nd week) - Classic GAT. (The event is tbc based on current security situation.)  Estimated local costs @ £1,000.

November 21, Monrovia, Liberia, Classic GAT

November 26, Zimbabwe, Classic GAT

December 5th-7th,  Mile 91, Sierra Leone, Classic GAT. (This will only be able to take place if the GAT team can fundraise the local, estimated costs of £1,000.)
